Back Of The Net: Believ And Woodford Town FC Agree New Local Partnership
Members of the Believ team join the Woodford Town team in early 2024.
National charge point operator, Believ, has taken its partnership with Redbridge Council to another league by announcing a new sponsorship deal with Woodford Town Football Club.
Believ has a long-standing relationship with the area and supporting the local community with sustainable electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions that help deliver cleaner air for all.
This partnership will see a total of 174 electric vehicle (EV) charge points installed across 87 locations by the end of 2024. The goal is to help the borough facilitate the switch away from petrol and diesel vehicles and towards more sustainable modes of transport.
Investing in the local football team is seen as a logical step: “This partnership reflects a focus in helping recharge the local community and its future and we are excited to play a part in the history of the mighty Yellow and Blues,” says Believ CEO Guy Bartlett.
Woodford Town F.C. Chairman, Tony Scott, says he’s delighted to join forces with Believ: “Partnering with Believ helps us continue our mission to invest in and develop the local community and give back to a loyal, forward-thinking and family-based borough.”
Believ becomes Woodford Town's home shirt sponsor.
First established in 1937 and home to football greats like Jimmy Greaves and Joe Kinnear, Woodford Town F.C. has enjoyed recent success, attracting interest for its emphasis on developing and attracting aspiring local talent, with teams playing at all ages from under 7s to the senior team.
With the club’s growing popularity and a recent £1.6 million council investment, the club has benefitted from a new home and state-of-the-art training facilities which also play host to local sports clubs, schools and communities for a variety of sporting activities and events.
With Believ’s support, and as part of its EV Charging Strategy, Redbridge Council plans to ensure that every resident is within a 5-minute walk of an EV charge point by 2026 and within a 3-minute walk of an EV charge point by 2030.
