Bristol Rovers Granted Planning Permission For New Stand

Bristol-Rovers stadium, with their club flag in the foreground Bristol Rovers have announced that they have been given a resolution to grant planning permission by Bristol City Council for their South Stand development project.

The permission comes with conditions but the decision marks a significant step forward in The Pirates’ commitment to improving the safety and matchday experience for their fans and those travelling to the ground as an away fan.

Their plans include removing the previous modular stand and then building a new one with 3,414 seats, toilets and concession stalls, with better access for disabled fans.

The club released a statement saying “The South Stand will modernise the stadium, and with your help continue to add to that infamous atmosphere that the Memorial Stadium is known for. As a result, it benefits those on the pitch and in the stands.

“We would like to thank the local community, fans and councillors who have supported this project and helped bring it to life.”

Addressing comments from local residents, they also acknowledged the views that engagement with the residents should have started earlier, and the Club have committed to this as a regular event moving forward.
