Fencing By Heras Provides Permanent Privacy Solution For Rangers FC
Summary:
Rangers FC instigated an upgrade of the privacy fencing on Professional Pitch 1 at the Rangers Training Centre in Milngavie. In the last three years, Heras has also worked on a series of incremental projects and upgrades at the Rangers Training Centre.
The Challenge:
4 m high privacy fencing needed to be installed mid-season around the perimeter of Professional Pitch 1. This was very unusual, as this type of work is usually carried out off-season, when there is minimal usage of the site.
The Approach:
Heras’s ‘safety first’ approach was constant throughout the project. Meticulous planning was required to plan safe working time slots or periods of time when the training ground was not in use.
The Solution:
4 m high fencing with double visibility-reducing Tildenet netting was installed on Professional Pitch 1 – along with a specially designed 8 m wide by 4 m high gate • Heras installed 150 m of new 2.4 m tall high-security Heras fencing and 300 m of Heras safety spectator railing at the front of the new stand for the women’s professional team • Heras installed 1 m high ball-stop fencing around Professional Pitch 2 and replaced the ball-stop netting on the professional and youth pitches.
The Result:
The first and most important has been the installation of the spectator railing to ensure that visitors to the site can safely watch games • The first team can work in privacy on tactics and formations for matches. All the fencing is in RAL5010 to match the Rangers’ colours
The Products:
Professional Pitch 1 has Heras Pallas sports ball-court fencing, Tildenet netting and a bespoke 8 m wide by 4 m high gate. The women’s team pitch has high-security Heras fencing and Heras safety spectator railing. Professional Pitch 2 and the youth pitches have 1 m high Heras Pallas ball-stop fencing and Heras spectator rail.
Comment:
Rangers’ Sporting Director Ross Wilson said: “Everyone at Rangers Football Club values our long-term relationship with Heras.
“Over around two decades they have helped ensure privacy and security at Rangers Training Centre which is vitally important. We have a first-class facility at Auchenhowie and it is key that players and staff can make full use of this in a private environment which has been made possible thanks to the many years of working closely with Heras.”
