Ipswich Town Submit Plans For Sir Alf Ramsey Stand Car Park Development

An aerial view of the development at Ipswich Town Football Club Ipswich Town Football Club has announced that plans have been submitted to develop the car park area behind the Sir Alf Ramsey Stand (South) at Portman Road stadium.

Going forward the car park will have 168 spaces. On matchdays these will be used by external broadcasters and Club staff.

Six electric vehicle charging points will also be installed.

As part of the development, the entry and exit point to the car park on Chancery Road will be modified. A total of 17 spaces will also be returned to the Travelodge hotel, and there will be another separate entry and exit point on Russell Road for guests of the hotel.

The work will see the temporary hoardings that are currently in place removed, creating a more open car park with clearer access points for both vehicles and pedestrians.

Additionally, the Club anticipates that a further application for temporary facilities at the training ground (Playford Road) will be lodged this week. These facilities will support the larger training ground development and the associated Category One status for the Club’s Academy.

Work is set to begin early 2025 and a provisional design for the car park can be seen below:-
