Brent School Pupils Play Out Their Dreams At Wembley Stadium

Wembley Stadium Pitch Day 2024 More than 100 schoolchildren from across Brent were given the opportunity to play on the hallowed turf of Wembley Stadium.

Boys and girls from eight schools across the borough took part in various football activities as part of The FA and Wembley Stadium’s Community Pitch Day.

In sessions led by approved FA coaches, the children took penalties against England mascot Paws, before taking a tour of the players’ changing rooms.

Saira Mirza, CSR Manager at The FA said: “Our Community Pitch Day is an opportunity for us to open up the doors of Wembley Stadium and give local schoolchildren the chance to play on the famous Wembley pitch.

“We have come to the end of a very busy year of events at the stadium and now is the opportunity to give those who might not have had the chance to come to Wembley Stadium, to come and see what it is all about.”

Over the last 12 months The FA and Wembley Stadium have given away 20,000 free tickets to local residents and community groups, alongside 1,000 free stadium tours to local schoolchildren.

The stadium has also hosted an open Iftar for Ramadan and a Vaisakhi celebration, which attracted more than 1,600 guests.

Saira added: “Wembley Stadium is at the heart of Brent, and our community day gives us a unique opportunity to engage with and support our neighbours, offering them unforgettable experiences and memorable moments at the home of English football.”
