The Peacocks Stadium Officially Named By Cygnet Health Care Patient

Cutting the ribbon at the Cygnet Health Care Stadium naming ceremony One lucky Cygnet patient had the opportunity to officially name Taunton Town Football Club’s ground as the Cygnet Health Care Stadium.

Leonard, a patient from the hospital’s Redwood ward said “It was a good feeling to be able to do this today, Taunton town football club isn’t my first choice of club, but it is my second favourite.

“I’ve seen more Taunton Town Football matches than my first‑choice club and I have to say the atmosphere has been great. The football has been exciting to watch and the staff at the club have been welcoming and supportive”.

Dr Phil de Warren‑Penny Medical Director & Consultant Psychiatrist explained how “having a strong connection with our local football team, Taunton Town, is of real value to our patients. The experience of those under our care who attend matches has been consistently positive and appreciated, and we are grateful for the opportunities our relationship brings. A key part of recovery is embracing the everyday experiences, and the ability for patients to do this in a meaningful way, often far from home, is not taken for granted. Thank you to all at Taunton Town FC for making this possible”.

This is what the Hospital Manager, Nome Njini had to say regarding the partnership: “it is fantastic to be sponsoring Taunton Town Football Club again this year and reflect on how the partnership has grown between the club and the hospital. We have worked closely with Taunton Town over the past five years and together we have faced our share of challenges. We are really excited for the future and look forward to continuing our partnership”.

Looking forward to the continuation of the club’s partnership with Cygnet, this is what Karl Lindsay, our Operations Manager had to say: “I am so happy to welcome Cygnet Health Care back as the sponsor of the stadium – this is a major coup for us. Watch this space to see upcoming improvements to the ground alongside us working with Cygnet for a range of other projects.”
