Booking Now Open For SAPCA Technical Meeting 2024

SAPCA Technical Meeting 2024 will take place 13th November, at East Midlands Conference Centre, Nottingham Booking is now open for The SAPCA Technical Meeting, one of the sports and play construction industry’s most popular events of the year.

The one‑day event will take place at East Midlands Conference Centre in Nottingham on Wednesday 13th November.

The annual event brings the industry together to discuss standards, learn about innovations within the sector and discuss trends and opportunities. Last year, more than 200 people attended the Technical Meeting to hear about sports governing bodies' developments, Football Foundation testing and the latest codes of practice around Padel.

The event is open to anyone in the sports and play industry.

Educational Programme

This year’s educational programme will be finalised shortly. The topics include:

Sport England’s sustainability strategy, Every Move, and how it will impact on SAPCA members and the wider sports construction industry.
Post‑UEFA Euro 2024 and pre‑2026 FIFA World Cup – what are the challenges for hybrid and natural turf in tournament conditions?
Product Environmental Footprint Category Rules (PEF CR) ‘a European directive’ – how will it impact the UK and SAPCA members?
A dedicated session for SAPCA’s tennis division, focusing on SAPCA members working in tennis and padel court construction.
The latest university research in sports surfacing.
Current developments in synthetic turf standards, products and innovations and how they impact the development of facilities within the UK and across Europe.

The Technical Meeting also offers invaluable networking opportunities with colleagues from across the sports and play industry, as well as with guests from national governing bodies, leading research institutes and the wider sports and play industry.

Networking Dinner

A networking dinner will take place in the evening. Held at the conference venue, this is a very popular part of the event and offers a great opportunity for networking while enjoying excellent food and drink.

Hotel Accommodation

Overnight accommodation is available at the Orchard Hotel adjacent to the East Midlands Conference Centre. It is a contemporary, 4‑star hotel featuring accessible rooftop terraces, green roofs and free Wi‑Fi in all areas. Opened in 2012, The Orchard Hotel & Restaurant has a Brasserie‑style restaurant and bar. All bedrooms come with bespoke furniture and unique decor throughout.

SAPCA members will be able to present and showcase their products and services to delegates on the Technical Meeting exhibition floor. The cost of attending the event is as follows:

Day event:

SAPCA members – £140 (plus VAT)

Non‑SAPCA members – £280 (plus VAT)

Dinner:

Standard price – £50 (plus VAT)

Hotel:

The cost for B&B is £110 (plus VAT) for a standard double or twin room.
