Chester FC Announce Greener Grounds As Their New Pitch Partners

Chester Football Club Deva Stadium new signage Chester Football Club have welcomed Greener Grounds to the Club as their Pitch Partners for the 2024/25 season.

Greener Grounds is an established business operating across the UK within the sports turf industry and the North‑West in the grounds maintenance sector. The business was originally set up with support of the Prince’s Trust.

They work closely with fellow non‑league clubs such as Southport and Runcorn Linnets, and also at high‑quality stadia such as the Etihad Stadium and Elland Road.

They will be working on the Deva Stadium pitch throughout the week, taking over from Groundsman Mike Barrow, who departed the Club last month for a Premier League opportunity.

Blues General Manager Albert Davies said: We’re all very pleased to welcome Greener Grounds to the club for this season – and we’re already very happy with the work they’ve put in with us so far.

“We weighed up a number of factors during the recruitment process, looked closely at those individuals who had applied for the Groundsperson role, and also took into account the time of year – and ultimately believe Greener Grounds was the best decision for the club.

“They have an impressive track record, come highly recommended, and we’re very pleased to have them on board.”

Greener Grounds will be responsible for week‑to‑week maintenance including cutting and marking out the pitch, applying products to the grass and a full aeration programme across the campaign.

On matchdays, a team of dedicated Volunteers will be responsible for managing all the relevant duties required on a Saturday afternoon or Tuesday evening.
