PTSG Appears At Glastonbury

A Premier Technical Services Group Ltd (PTSG), via constituent company NSS Group, has completed a project to support the media in broadcasting the Glastonbury Festival, which took place between 26th and 30th June.

The world‑renowned festival is staged at Worthy Farm in Pilton, Somerset. The three headlining acts were Dua Lipa, Coldplay and SZA, with Shania Twain performing in the traditional Sunday Legends slot. This year, 210,000 people attended the event.

Over 90 hours of television and radio coverage of the festival was broadcast. The main television coverage was hosted by Jo Whiley, Lauren Laverne, Jack Saunders, and Clara Amfo, with additional online‑only coverage from Huw Stephens and Deb Grant, and aired on BBC iPlayer and several BBC channels, including the newly‑created “Glastonbury II” channel in addition to livestreams from each of the five main stages.

NSS Hire, which forms an integral part of PTSG Building Access Specialists Ltd, delivered mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs), known informally as cherry pickers, to enable broadcasters to capture a wide range of footage from some spectacular positions and heights.

NSS Hire is having a busy year in 2024. It recently hired out specialist powered access platforms to the Wimbledon Championships, and its services were next utilised at the 152nd Open Golf Championship at Royal Troon. On Saturday 15th June, it supplied truck‑mounted access systems to assist with the broadcast of the Trooping the Colour ceremony in The Mall.
