Stretford End Refurbishment Has Begun At Old Trafford

The Stretford End at Manchester United FC's Old Trafford stadium Work to replace the Stretford End's executive seating area with general admission season‑tickets has officially begun, in consultation with the club's Fans' Advisory Board.

The project was first announced back in January 2023 with a view to the installation being completed this summer, in time for the 2024/25 season.

The decision added to a series of fan‑centric steps taken by the Club following consultation with fan representatives, including the installation of rail seating and the creation of a dedicated atmosphere section in the Stretford End.

On Monday, work started to remove the seats from two sections of the iconic Stretford End.

The concrete foundation is currently on show at the Theatre of Dreams and it is a striking image, indicative of a summer of change.

Rick McGagh, director of fan engagement, said: “We are delighted that from August the Stretford End – one of the most famous and iconic stands in world football – will once again be accessible to all fans.

“It is the heartbeat of our ground and has been the backdrop to many last‑minute winners and incredible moments over the years.

“The re‑introduction of general admission tickets, along with the additional youth season tickets, The Red Army atmosphere section and a thousand loyal season tickets relocating to the Stretford End from other parts of the ground will really make a difference and create an incredible atmosphere to support the team.”
