Wembley Stadium Affirms Commitment To Tackle Poor Fan Behaviour

Seating at Wembley Stadium Wembley Stadium has echoed its commitment to clamp down on poor fan behaviour as it prepares to host a record‑breaking eighth UEFA Champions League Final on Saturday, June 1st.

The stadium warmed up for Europe’s biggest game in club football, by welcoming more than 170,000 spectators to the Emirates FA Cup Final and EFL Championship Play‑Off Final, last weekend.

Police made 74 arrests across the two days with a large portion of all arrests for incidents related to fraud, drugs and violence.

Twelve people were arrested for handling pyrotechnic equipment and two were arrested for tragedy chanting. One man was also arrested for attempting to gain access to the pitch.

Chris Bryant, Stadium Director, said: “We have a zero‑tolerance approach for any form of illegal, anti‑social, offensive and discriminatory conduct, and our crowd safety teams work incredibly hard to ensure perpetrators are quickly identified and reported to the Police.

“These arrests are a clear message that this type of behaviour will not be tolerated at Wembley Stadium for all our events including the upcoming UEFA Champions League Final.

“We want all supporters coming to Wembley Stadium to enjoy a great day out in a safe and secure environment.”

Wembley Stadium has implemented several enhancements to its security and safety operations at recent events. It includes more stewards, additional ticket checks, improved fencing, new security lanes and increased enforcement of the Public Space Protection Order (PSPO) which exists around the stadium on event days.

All of the changes will be in operation again on Saturday as the stadium prepares to welcome a sell‑out crowd for the final between Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund.
