Kilmarnock To Return To Grass Pitch For 2025‑26 Season

The Kilmarnock FC stadium It has been revelated that Kilmarnock intend to replace their artificial pitch at Rugby Park and revert to a grass surface. The aim is for this to be completed for the start of the 2025‑26 season.

Billy Bowie, the club's majority shareholder, hopes that the work at Bowie Park training facility can begin in the spring, if their final planning approval is granted in a timely manner.

Bowie says the opening of the new facility, aimed for in the latter part of next year, will lead to the artificial surface at Rugby Park being lifted, and so games will be played on grass in the 2025-26 season.

It is hoped that Kilmarnock’s women's team and their youth academy will be based there by the end of 2024.

The plan is that the centre will have two full‑size pitches with a 250‑seat stand, and a training complex.
