Forest Green Rovers’ Eco Friendly Stadium Approved

Forest Green Rovers’ Eco Friendly Stadium Approved Football league two’s Forest Green Rovers have taken another step on the road to the club's new eco friendly stadium after it was approved by the Football League.

The club's ambitious plans for the world's first wooden stadium as part of an Eco Park have been delayed but chairman Dale Vince has welcomed the latest decision.

Plans for the 5,000-seat stadium which will be conveniently situated next to Junction 13 of the M5, were initially rejected by Stroud District Council in June 2019 but on a second application these were passed.

Rovers, who sit second in League Two, have extended their sponsorship deal with Renishaw, one of the largest private-sector employers in Gloucestershire.

Head of Renshaw communications, Chris Pockett, said: “It is important for us to engage with and support our local communities.

"Forest Green Rovers is a true community club, yet has a global profile due to its unique approach to sustainability, so extending our long-term relationship makes great sense for both organisations."
