Vaccine Increases Hopes Of Fans Return To Stadia

A packed crowdCould the return of fans to stadia happen early next year?

Reports are emanating that the Premier League is already in talks with the government and potentially close to agreeing a blueprint that would align Covid-19 vaccine records with a digital health passport to fast-track the return of fans back into stadia.

This will come as positive news amongst supporters but the roll-out time and potential costs involved could mean that it may take time to filter down the football pyramid and across other sports where the loss of spectators has been felt the greatest.

However, considering the situation being suffered across the UK sports and hospitality industry at the moment, this has to be perceived as more positive news.

Some sporting establishments feared the worst with no vaccine leaving uncertainty as to how long they could continue to finance themselves without the additional matchday income. With many lower league clubs solely reliant on these revenues, with big commercial and TV deals not something they would ordinarily benefit, some futures were looking bleak.

For some a vaccine will always cause a differing of opinions but if spectators are prepared to accept a vaccine, then many stadia’s around the country have already implemented numerous safety aspects to ensure further peace of mind on both the approaches and once inside the arenas themselves.
