Portsmouth Rail Seating Installation At Fratton End

Installation of the safe standing seating at Fratton End Portsmouth FC are in the process of installing three rows of rail seating at the back of their 26‑year‑old Fratton End stand, ahead of their League One opener against Bristol Rovers on of Saturday.

Once completed, another 13 rows will be introduced from September 3rd‑22nd, as the Club are without home fixtures during that period.

Although completion of the rail seating is expected by the end of next month, the safe standing aspect of the seating cannot be used until the appropriate licence has been granted.

Fratton Park will end up with around 4,500 rail seats, with 3,000 of those located in the redeveloped Milton End.

The installation of rail seating represents the biggest change to the Fratton End since its opening in October 1997. At about 1,500 seats, almost a third of the stand’s 4,700 capacity will allow for safe standing.
