Coventry City Pitch Repairs Continue

Pitch repairs in progress at the Coventry Building Society Arena Work continues on the improvements at the Coventry Building Society Arena ahead of Coventry City FC’s first home game of the season, due to be held Wednesday 31st August against Preston North End.

Following the previously reported damage to the turf, new synthetic fibres continue to be stitched into the ground throughout the pitch. These new fibres will give increased stability to the existing structure and then allow for better growth now and in the future.

Also, areas which have been more widely damaged will be subject to extensive and increased maintenance work so they can be fully integrated with the existing pitch.

The club have reported the pitch will be completed by this Friday, with two-thirds of the pitch now done as of Tuesday morning, with the completed areas looking very good.

The independent agronomists will return to the Arena on Wednesday to assess the progress of the pitch, and once the work is completed the pitch will be ready for the Sky Blues to play on again.
