BSI publishes UK Safe Working Guidelines
UK business community encouraged to unite and shape best practice
BSI, in its role as the UK’s National Standards Body, has published new safe working guidelines to help businesses manage a safe return to work and reoccupation of their facilities. The guidelines are intended to become a consensus of good practice and BSI encourages the business community and members of the public to have their say and share their learnings and insight on safe working to help protect public health.
CHSA Calls On The Government To Specify Employees Of Manufacturers And Distributors Of Cleaning & Hygiene Products As Eligible For Priority Testing
The Cleaning & Hygiene Suppliers Association (CHSA) has written to the Health Secretary, The Rt Hon Matt Hancock MP, asking employees of manufacturers and distributors of cleaning and hygiene products be eligible for priority testing for the coronavirus.
BHA Publishes Guidelines For Safe Resumption Of Racing

The governing body and regulator for horseracing has published its technical guidelines for participants and staff to allow racing to resume safely behind closed doors. The British Horseracing Authority (BHA) has worked with racecourses and representatives of trainers, jockeys and staff to adapt a normal race meeting, provide medical screening for all attendees in advance and maintain social distancing.

The Stadium Events & Hospitality Awards 2020 have been cancelled due to the ongoing COVID-19 Coronavirus (see announcement). One category had already been completed in a live kitchen competition held in early March 2020. Today the awards organisers, Stadium Experience, has chosen to officially announce the results of the Chef Team of the Year Award 2020 on the day the awards were originally planned to be held at Liverpool FC.

The British Safety Council has today launched a new COVID-19 Assurance Assessment Service to support organisations returning to work. A detailed return to work guide can be used across all sectors and will enable organisations around the world to develop robust new processes and protocols to keep employers and their customers safe. The service is designed to ensure that employers manage the risk of transmission of COVID-19 as far as is possible within their workplace.
