Coventry City Set To Return To The Ricoh Arena

Coventry City Set To Return To The Ricoh Arena Coventry City are set to return to the Ricoh Arena next season with an agreement between their owners, SISU, and Wasps Rugby Club which is expected to be signed imminently.

Coventry City, who have had a successful period under Mark Robin, have been without their own home ground, spending the 2013/14 campaign in Northampton, with the last two seasons at being played at Birmingham City’s St. Andrew’s stadium where many fans stayed away in frustration with the club’s predicament.

Thankfully, this is all set to change, with a 10-year deal, yet to be ratified, between Sky Blues owners SISU and stadium owners Wasps, which will see Coventry play there from the start of the 2021/22 season.

The update states that the EFL are set to approve the agreement in the next 24 hours, with a formal announcement set to follow.

This is potentially wonderful news for the Coventry City team, giving them the opportunity to play in front of their own fans and, hopefully watching Championship football at the Ricoh Arena, following two years without a ‘home’. They are currently two places and three points above the relegation zone with 12 games to play.
