Sheffield FC To Be Revamped With A New Facility

Sheffield FC To Be Revamped With A New Facility Sheffield FC, the world’s oldest football club, is looking forward to building a new facility which would include a 4,000 seat arena, heritage centre, club shop and a new training academy.

Richard Tims, Chairman of Sheffield FC, believes the new stadium, to be built at the Sheffield Transport Sports Club, could be ready in as little as two years, in what would be a long-awaited homecoming for a club which ironically has spent the last two decades playing in a ground outside the city limits.

The Chairman is confident the heritage centre will help Sheffield to fully capitalise on its proud sporting history and ultimately allow the city to receive the recognition it deserves as the ‘home of football’ where the rules of the modern game were established and which it is expected to become a place of pilgrimage drawing fans of the world’s best-loved sport from around the globe.

The heritage centre will display the club’s own memorabilia, including early rule books, trophies and various club artefacts.
