Warwickshire County Cricket Club Chief Executive Stuart Cain visited the Lord Combustion Services HQ in Dudley Road East, Oldbury, to see their operation at work and to discuss future opportunities of working with the Bears in the 2021 season.

Lord Combustion Services is the official heating and hot water partner for Warwickshire County Cricket Club and its iconic home of Edgbaston Stadium, one of the most famous landmarks in Test and county cricket.

As well as being responsible for the hot water for the players’ changing rooms and spectator facilities at Edgbaston, Lord Combustion Services also ensures the hospitality and catering facilities are supported.

In addition to the heating contract, Lord Combustion Services is a shirt sponsor with their logo appearing on the collar of the Birmingham Bears T20 team.

During a tour of the Oldbury HQ, as well as seeing the operations service at work Mr Cain had the opportunity to speak to the staff who serve more than 1000 customers every year. As part of the visit he presented managing director Stuart Smith with a framed T20 shirt signed by the Birmingham Bears players to celebrate the partnership between the two companies.

Stuart Smith said: “Lord Combustion Services values its strong link with Warwickshire County Cricket Club and the Edgbaston Stadium team, so it was fantastic to be able to show Stuart our own team in action.

“We service a diverse range of clients across a number of industry sectors, ranging in scale from small commercial premises to landmark sites like Edgbaston. All our customers value the way we are adaptable and responsive to their needs.

“We are proud to support the Bears in T20 because as a fast-moving business ourselves, it means to be part of the success of a leading team in one of the fastest formats in cricket. Lord Combustion Services looks forward to working with Warwickshire County Cricket Club for many years to come.”

Stuart Cain said: “Like all elite sports, it has been a challenging year. It has therefore become more important than ever that we continue to work closely with our commercial partners to understand any change in objectives and to maximise opportunities around following the Bears from home. Incorporating Lord Combustion into a major part of Bears Den TV and the development of our live stream has been a real success story of 2020.

“We greatly value the input and support from Lord Combustion Services through this commercial partnership and was great to meet Stuart and his team to see their operation in action.”

Formed in 1982, Lord Combustion Services was originally a mechanical contractor specialising in service and commissioning of gas and oil-fired equipment. Today the company has diversified to support customers across all aspects of mechanical and electrical building services.
