Northern Ireland Cautiously Welcoming Back Fans

Ulster RugbyKingspan Stadium, Belfast, home of Ulster Rugby, will be opening it’s doors to one thousand supporters for Ulster's Pro14 game against Scarlets on Sunday, 22 November, 2020.

This will be the biggest attendance inside the Belfast ground since rugby returned from the coronavirus-enforced break in August.

Ulster opened its 2020-21 season with the game against Benetton on 2 October when the club successfully trialled the safe return of 600 spectators but then the decision was made to play their next two home fixtures behind closed doors, in line with advice from Northern Ireland's chief medical and scientific officers.

However, now, following "extensive consultation" with the NI Executive, the Irish Rugby Football Union and Belfast City Council, the province are putting 500 pairs of tickets on sale.

The green light for Ulster Rugby is good news amid an impressive start to the season, having won all six of their opening fixtures.

The tickets are only available to members of the #TogetherUlster scheme, the system brought in to replace season tickets for the current season.

This is all very good news for sport in Northern Ireland where, only last week, 12 November, 1060 football spectators were present inside Belfast's Windsor Park for Northern Ireland's Euro 2021 play-off final against Slovakia, albeit not the final result Belfast fans welcomed!
