Somerset County Cricket Club Announce New Catering Contract With BaxterStorey

BaxterStorey team of chefs Somerset County Cricket Club have appointed BaxterStorey as hospitality provider in a five-year partnership which sees the caterer running both hospitality and catering provisions for club members alongside for anyone who visits the Cooper Associates County Ground.

Following the announcement, SCCC CEO, Gordon Hollins said: “We are thrilled to announce this new partnership. Catering is all about people and we were very impressed by BaxterStorey’s leadership and their desire to work in true partnership.

“We believe this will be the beginning of an outstanding working relationship as we aim to consistently provide memorable experiences for our Members and stakeholders and grow into the venue of choice in the South West, which will allow for substantial investment in cricket.”

SCCC Commercial Director, Caroline Herbert added: “Working in partnership, we will be looking to bring new ideas to life and provide a more diverse matchday offering than ever before.

“It’s not just about our matchdays. This partnership will see us providing catering excellence across all of our events.

“Over the coming months, we will be seeking feedback from our Members and stakeholders to establish what our most valued customers want to see on the menu at the Cooper Associates County Ground.”



BaxterStorey have dedicated nutritionists who will be working hand in hand with the Club’s Strength & Conditioning team to provide the very best for our playing staff. They also put emphasis on ensuring that they deliver bespoke offerings to each organisation that they work with to guarantee that they are delivering the best possible service and value.

BaxterStorey Managing Director, Mack Allan added: “We’re excited to bring our innovation and creativity to Somerset County Cricket Club. We will be working with local suppliers and chef consultants to celebrate the best in south-west produce.

“Our experience working with sporting venues gives us a real understanding about what it takes to cater for a successful club like Somerset. Our chefs understand the important role that food plays in peak athletic performance, and we will bring nutritious, delicious dishes to both players, Members and fans.”

Somerset Members got to experience first-hand what BaxterStorey have to offer when the Club introduced them at an exclusive Open Day last week for over 200 members. The event included a tour around the grounds showcasing both the match days and hospitality offer for 2022, which received excellent feedback for its taste, quality, and creativity. Samples from the menu included Korean style chicken with spice fries and katsu ketchup; Brixham cod battered goujons, chips and pea puree; and parsnip velouté with smoked yoghurt.
