Essential Services and Key Workers

Following discussion, the Government has confirmed those involved in the production and distributors of cleaning and hygiene products are classified as key workers. It is our understanding they are avoiding precise definitions to avoid a key sector being missed.

For those who need to prove you or your employees are a key worker in an essential service we have produced a pdf, downloadable from the button below. Give a copy of this pdf, accompanied by a photocopy of your membership certificate, to each employee so they can prove your status to whom it may concern.

Working closely with partners in the industry

We are working closely with partner organisations including the British Cleaning Council, Cleaning Support Services Association and the Food Packaging Association.

In this update we are sharing the Food Packaging Association's update on furloughed workers, premises that can remain open and help for businesses trading internationally.

Your questions and concerns

We want to support and help you through this challenging and confusing time, whether it is updating you on the Government guidance and support or advice on the wellbeing of employees. Please send us your questions and concerns and we will source answers.

With intense pressure on business leaders, we understand this may be an isolating experience for our members. With this in mind we have set up a temporary private group on LinkedIn where you can connect with peers. Only members will be accepted into the group.
