UK Government At Final Review Stage For Digital COVID Passports

UK Sports Bodies Unite To Back COVID-19 Passports It is understood that the UK government is in the final stages of a review over the potential introduction of digital COVID passports for supporters next season, albeit as a temporary measure.

The Premier League has made it known that it would welcome certification which would allow an end social distancing rules and lead to a return of full stadia.

A decision on this is expected before the next review of coronavirus restrictions by June 21st.

It could potentially play a role in opening up higher‑risk settings safely and would take into account a recent negative test, vaccination or natural immunity.

It is believed the government are considering a range of evidence around COVID‑status certification and are still reviewing evidence therefore no final decisions have been taken.
