Saracens Vs Bedford Blues A show of commitment to help make StoneX Stadium a safe environment for the return of spectators

Saracens Rugby Club is delighted to announce Rentokil Initial has re‑signed as the Club’s Official Hygiene Partner, for the 20/21 Greene King IPA Championship season.

With fans returning to stadiums from Monday May 17th, this strategic partnership, which at its announcement in August 2020 was believed to be a first in UK sport, will help to ensure the ‘Safe Return to Sport’ at StoneX Stadium, ahead of the first fixture in front of spectators for over a year, on Monday May 17th vs Ampthill.

Rentokil Initial will be providing a bespoke range of disinfection services and products including the installation of VIRUSKILLERTM air purification technology, which is proven to kill 99.9999% of viruses, including Coronavirus*. VIRUSKILLERTM units also decontaminate the air, by not only trapping but also killing airborne viruses, bacteria** and fungi. As our understanding of SARS‑CoV‑2 transmission increases, there is an increased awareness of the need to implement measures to help control the air we breathe in indoor settings. Rentokil Initial will also provide a range of washroom products and services onsite as the club prioritises the health and safety of its players, staff and stakeholders.

Disinfection treatments will be tailored to each individual area of the site from the players’ changing rooms, to the stands and the main hospitality concourse. This will include the use of UVC lamps, electrostatic disinfection and mist blowing space treatment. Deep cleans of the onsite kitchens will also be undertaken and will include TR19 compliant kitchen ventilation deep cleaning.

Saracens is committed to taking the necessary steps to providing a hygienically‑safe environment both front and back of house at StoneX Stadium for players, staff and stakeholders, as we gear up towards the welcome return of supporters.

Saracens Operations Director, Richard Gregg quote: “As a club, caring for our people is at the heart of everything we do and the safety of our staff and supporters is of paramount importance to us. As we deliver the guidance from DCMS ‘Elite sport Stage Five - return to competition: safe return of spectators’, this partnership will provide services and products above and beyond the necessary hygiene requirements, to help ensure a Covid‑safe and secure environment for all visitors to the StoneX Stadium. Rentokil Initial is an integral partner that will facilitate the exciting next step of us welcoming crowds back on Monday 17th May.”

Jamie Woodhall, Technical and Innovation Manager, Rentokil Specialist Hygiene and Initial Washroom Hygiene, said: “We are proud to be supporting Saracens Rugby Club with a best‑practice approach to hygiene and cross contamination prevention. The return of fans to live sport has been long awaited by many, and represents another significant step in the nation’s recovery from the pandemic.

"We hope that by having all of these hygiene measures in place as well as VIRUSKILLERTM units located in key indoor areas, it will provide confidence to staff, players and fans, and set the benchmark for sports stadiums across the country to follow in providing safe and clean air inside, and hygiene‑confidence for all.”
