Increased Security Around Old Trafford

Security barriers being placed at Manchester United Manchester United management have responded to the protests against the Glazers by increasing the security around Old Trafford.

Thousands of supporters gathered before Manchester United’s match against Liverpool at the start of the month to protest against the Glazers' ownership of the club, with anger reaching boiling point amid the club's involvement in the collapsed ‘Super League’ proposal.

While the protest was mostly peaceful, some fans did make their way into Old Trafford to invade the pitch, with some reportedly causing criminal damage, creating a hostile environment around the stadium, and consequently, the United team bus did not set off from the nearby Lowry Hotel.

As it is anticipated that there will be further demonstrations by the fan base expressing their feelings as to the present state of the club in the hands of its present owners, the club’s management have now erected barriers around the stadium.
