Coronavirus Pandemic: How To Effectively Shift Office-Based Populations To Home Workers

Coronavirus PandemicThe UK has reported 456 coronavirus cases and six deaths. Despite the country being in the ‘containment’ phase of the government's four-part plan, it is likely that the peak of the virus is yet to come. People who are displaying even minor signs of respiratory tract infections or fever may be instructed to self-isolate, a pre-emptive attempt by health officials to curb the spread of the outbreak. Some governments have declared that up to 80% of their population will be affected by coronavirus. This is an unprecedented health threat that is affecting life and business across the world.

With coronavirus impacting on a global scale, what do global pandemics like coronavirus mean for business and workplace? How can employers adapt to keep their organisations running as close to normal, with the same level of productivity? How can we ensure business as usual when we are not business as usual?

Having the odd ‘work from home’ day is one thing but managing large numbers of people working at home for a prolonged period of time is quite another. Advanced Workplace Associates (AWA) is offering a series of 'snap' workshops to support workplace leaders in making the right preparations and for managing teams and communities that will need to work at home for sustained periods of time.

These workshops are for any organisation needing to effectively manage the change from office-based working to home-based working. They will explore the practicalities of home-working and the best practices for managing remote teams.

“There is a lot we take for granted when we're in the office. When we're working away, we need to consciously develop new leadership and workership practices,” says Mawson, founder of AWA. “Businesses should adapt and grow or they will diminish. Whether the required change is driven by global economics, workplace cultural changes, or imminent global pandemics such as coronavirus, businesses are having to change their ways of working. Sometimes in an instant.”

The first online session will take place on 26 March 2020 at 4pm GMT. To register, visit: https://www.advanced-workplace.com/awa/services/advanced-workplace-institute/events/shifting-office-based-populations-to-home-working-effectively/
